If there’s one thing that charges up Rod McDee and the Rod Squad* even more than impact protection, it’s giving back during our annual CGI® Community Service Week. Our homebase for decades, Miami-Dade County and its residents are an important part of the extended CGI® family, and we’re always honored to take part in projects and initiatives that lift up our neighbors, whether it’s volunteering our time and offering corporate donations. Rod’s even been known to roll out the cannon to entertain the local crowds.
For this year’s Community Service Week, we spread the love far and wide:
Helping a Hero
The Helping a Hero organization provides support, services, and resources for severely injured military personnel. Major elements of that support include adapting housing to the needs of the veteran, along with caregiver, recreational, mental health, and financial programs.
As part of their 100 Home Challenge, the Helping a Hero team recently designed a four-bedroom home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, for retired Marine Sgt. Chris Fleming, who lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan.
Our team at CGI® was proud to donate windows, and we hope that Sgt. Fleming and his family will make some amazing memories in their new home. We invite you to learn more about Helping a Hero and join us in supporting this great organization.
Crisis Connection
We are truly a family here at CGI®, and we believe in taking care of each other in good — and challenging — times. Our Crisis Connection initiative provides financial assistance to our team when emergencies or the unexpected occur.
To make it fun, employees donate items for a big raffle. All proceeds go to the Crisis Connection fund.
Do you have a great organization that you think we should know about? Tell us about it!
