It’s happened again … and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Yet another energy-efficient, ground-breaking, precedent-setting home in Florida has earned LEED Gold certification – with help from CGI Windows & Doors.
This one’s called Domus Alba, and it’s located in Pinecrest, Florida, right on the edge of Biscayne Bay. Designed by David M. Harper, FAIA, for his own family, the home is a master class in walking the sustainability talk.
- The exterior limestone walls flow effortlessly into a welcoming grid of sparkling, white-framed windows at the front entrance. Some are fixed, but some are operable, initiating the smooth air flow throughout the home.
- Dramatic sweeping walls of glass windows 20 feet high descend into a 30’ wall of operable sliding glass doors.
- The exterior building envelope exceeds current building codes; not only did it make LEED Gold certification, it did it from a starting point of 16.5 points in the hole, due to the size of the home.
- Domus Alba is the first home of its size to reach LEED Gold in Florida.
This is quite the spectacular home, both visually and through its many sustainability features. Here’s a little more information, for your reading pleasure.
We at CGI are honored and thrilled to be part of such a wonderful showplace!
